the loss of a friend

I remember very distinctly telling Brian the day of Mike's funeral that I didn't want to attend another Fallen Firefighter funeral for a long time. So this morning when he called me to tell me that one of the Murray firefighters passed away yesterday, I told him he broke his promise to me. There are not a lot of details right now. All we know is that the Captian had a routine outpatient surgery, was released and went home where he died sometime late yesterday. The whole department is in shock right now. And the sight of the flag being at half staff in front of the station is a little more than I can take right now.
