Mike's Funeral

Yesterday was a rough, but special day for us. The funeral for Brian's chief, Mike, was yesterday. To see the amount of support from all over the state was amazing. Mike was remebered as a guy who had to be big as he was to fit his huge heart. he was called the gentle Giant several times yesterday. The picutres are of the funeral. Brian was a pallbearer. the picture of brian walking is heart wrenching when you click on it. You can see the tears running down his face. There were many touching moments, but two that got all of a crying are when they came across the radio for the last alarm, and then the tradition of having a fully dressed fire fighter walk through a mist of water to represent passing on while two other firefigters stand back representing those left behind. We all said yesterday that we hope we don't have to do this again until we are very old. Thank you all for your love and support during our difficult time.

What a beautiful tribute. I am sorry that you are having to go through this. I hope that both you and Brian are doing okay. Take care!

Thank you for sharing the pictures, it brought tears to my eyes to see them. You are both in our prayers and I agree that I hope you won't have another memorial tribute for a long time. We love ya! Cory and Tricia
