For those who don't know, the Saratoga Springs Fire Cheif died in a car accident while on duty. This is a shock to us and the entire fire community. There are still alot of unanswered questions, some of which may never be answered. Brian and I were both very close to the cheif. It is hard to comprehend what has happened.
This tragedy we are experencing is finally setting in, though. The first day was just "what happened" and tears. The second was disbelief. Today is normal, but not. Brian is currently on a fire, but instead of fighting it he is being the incident commander, since their is no one else.
Little things like this keep happening. Thoughts or memories will pop in our head and we start to cry. Fire calls continue to happen. Other departments covered them for the first 24 hours, but now it is us again.
Funeral services are set for friday, and I will post pictures of it sometime later.
Again, I ask that you keep Brian in your prayers as her prepares to say hi final goodbyes to a dear friend
