firefighter angels

Yesterday we had a fairly large rainstorm.  Big rumbling thunder with heavy downpours.  The boys and I went outside to watch the rain from the front porch.  Aidan saw other kids playing in the rain and asked to go out too.  Even though I had not seen lightning I told him no that thunder goes with lightning and we need to stay under the roof.  Not 30 seconds later our neighbors house was hit by lightning.  It was so loud and blinding bright. It shook the ground and rang in our ears.  Both boys started to cry and scream and it took me a minute to figure out what was happening.  Thank you Mike, Kelly and Andy for watching out for my boys and keeping us  safe under the roof and protected.
