Ten years of blood (mostly from other people), sweat (wildfire season sucks) and tears (lots of them from me, but even some from Brian) and we are done. Done with the Saratoga Springs Fire Dept. Brian has struggled with working down there for awhile, but lately some decisions have been made he just can't support. So he is turning in his radio and walking away. I think it was tough for him since he feels he is walking away from Mike's department, but it isn't that anymore. Mike never would put into act the things that are happening down there.
Brian learned a lot while working for SSFD. Made many firends and is a better person. But he is now in a better position and does not need the crutch of SSFD. He has made a name for himself as a firefighter and as a mechanic. Rumor has it there had been some banter between several departments about Murray Fire having him and not letting him go.
I have to say thank you SSFD for giving Brian his inital push in the fire service, but he can, will and already has made it on his own.
